IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Robert Earl
Tipton
September 27, 1951 – September 25, 2025
Robert Earl Tipton, age 73, of Copperhill, passed away on Thursday, September 25, 2025 at his home, surrounded by his family. He was born on September 27, 1951 in Fannin County to the late Robert Reid Tipton and Rosa Oleta Cochran Tipton. Robert wore many hats throughout his career, working in construction and in public service as both a paramedic and deputy. He attended New Hope Holiness Church. Robert was a family man, who sacrificed and did all he could for those he loved. His family was his inspiration for battling through his illness. He enjoyed fishing, horses, and being on his tractor. Robert cherished the time he got to spend with his grandchildren.
Robert is survived by his loving wife of more than 53 years, Dorothy Collins Tipton; son and daughter-in-law, Jeremy and Chrissy Tipton; daughter and son-in-law, Alicia and Jaime Norton; grandchildren, Nathaniel Tipton, Hannah (Cole) Barker, Tori Norton, and Ethan Norton; great-granddaughter, Stella Barker; brothers, Ronnie Tipton and Roy Tipton; sisters, Geraldine Sneed and Amy Allen; and a host of friends, too large to name in full, to which the family appreciates the love and support shown over the years.
A funeral service was held on Sunday, September 28, 2025, at 2:00 PM from the Akins-Cobb Copperhill Chapel with Brother Ronnie Merrell officiating. Music was provided by Roy Tipton and Paula Culver. Interment followed in the New Hope Holiness Church Cemetery with Brother John Prater officiating. Pallbearers were Nathaniel Tipton, Ethan Norton, Roy Tipton, Jaime Norton, Cole Barker, and Dennis Loudermilk. Honorary pallbearers will be Ronnie Tipton, Jason Tipton, Anthony Tipton, Brian Tipton, Nathan Sneed, Casey Arp, Bobby Wilson, Darrell Payne, Mike Adams, and Dale Ray. The family visited with friends at the funeral home on Saturday Evening from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Mrs. Dorothy Tipton.
Condolences may be left online for the family at www.akinscobb.com.
