Robert Stepp, age 82, of Blue Ridge, entered into the arms of Jesus Friday, March 29, 2019. He was born in Epworth on June 29, 1936. Robert was a loving and devoted father and husband. He had a love of music. He is preceded in death by his parents, Hayden and Gertrude Higdon Stepp; sisters, Dorothy Ray and Cleo Barton; and brothers, Earnest Stepp and Otis Stepp. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Jean Stepp; his children and their spouses, Teresa Stepp of Blue Ridge, Joan and Richard Marsh of Charlotte, NC, and Genevieve and James Dockery of Blue Ridge; a grandson, Cole Robert Marsh of Charlotte, NC; brother and sister-in-law, Johnny and Barbara Stepp; sisters and brother-in-law, Jane Miller of Blue Ridge and Louise and John Owen of Illinois. Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, April 2, 2019 at 2:00 pm from the Akins Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Harold Hightower and John Stewart officiating. Music will be provided by Teresa Stepp, Lynn Ward, James Sluder, Bill Cochran, and Harriet Frye. Interment will follow in the Sunrise Tabernacle Church Cemetery with Cole Robert Marsh, Melvin Cole, Dwayne Rhodes, Tony Rhodes, Harold Rhodes, and Richard White serving as pallbearers.
