Mr. Robert Young Queen, age 55, of McCaysville, GA passed away Tuesday, September 4, 2012 in the Erlanger Medical Center in Chattanooga, TN. Mr. Queen was born on March 23, 1957 in Fannin County, GA. He was preceded in death by his parents Howard Queen and Mary Bell Weeks Queen; his wife, Mary Godsey Queen; brother-in-law, Wayne Prince; and sister-in-law, Deanna Queen. He is survived by brothers and a sister-in-law, James and Patricia Queen of Nelson, GA, Charles Queen of McCaysville, GA, and Nolan Queen of Andrews, NC; sisters and brothers-in-law, Carolyn Prince of McCaysville, Katherine and John Dyer of Epworth; Magdalene and Lynn Ward of Blue Ridge; and Frances and Preston Farist of Ellijay, GA; special caregiver, Bonnie Bowers; eight nieces, eight nephews, 27 great nieces and nephews; aunts and uncles, Mae and Herbert Waters and Lizzie Patterson; and a host of cousins. Funeral services will be conducted Friday, September 7, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. from the Akins of Blue Ridge Chapel with Rev. Lloyd Deal officiating. Music will be by Lynn Ward and Teresa Stepp. Pallbearers will be Michael Dyer, Jamie Queen, Charlie Queen, Anthony Watkins, Richard Daves, and Jason Watkins. Honororary pallbearers will be Pvt. 2 Eric Hicks and Spec. 4 Chris Vann who are serving their country in the armed forces abroad; Preston Farist, John Dyer, Herbert Waters, Jeremy Tipton, Jimmy Holloway, Billy Wright, and Todd Waller.
