Obituary

Robert G. Qualls, age 79, of Mineral Bluff, Georgia passed away on April 8, 2025 at his home, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on September 29, 1945 in Dalton, Georgia to the late J.C. Qualls and Eva Mae (Williamson) Qualls.

Bob honorably served his country in the United States Marine Corps, serving twice in Vietnam. He loved the outdoors, and most of all hunting. Known as a beloved husband wonderful father, he most cherished the time spent around his family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his father, Mr. J.C. Qualls; mother, Mrs. Eva Mae (Williamson) Qualls; and sibling, Christine (Lee) Cochran.

He is survived by the love of his life, Evelyn (McAvoy) Qualls; son, Corey & Heather (Dave's) King; step-son, Tony & Melissa (Jones) King; step-daughter, Heide (King) & Ronnie Byrd; grandchildren, Liam King, Raelyn King, Jason & Cristy (Reece) Woody, Tyler & Kayla (Baliles) Brown, Tony & Heidi (Stecher) Byrd, and Brandy Byrd; great-grandchildren, Grayson Woody, Alicia Jones, Hunter Byrd, Jase Brown, and Myla Mae Brown; siblings, Clara Adams, Shirley (the late Jack) Housley, Frances (Robert) Williams, Junior (Jan) Qualls, and Grady (Jeanie) Qualls; numerous nieces and nephews; and dear friends.

A memorial service to honor the life of Mr. Qualls was held on Sunday, April 13, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. from the Akins-Cobb Blue Ridge Chapel with words of comfort provided by Mr. Ronnie Byrd and Mrs. Heide Byrd. Music was provided by Mrs. Rhonda Aaron. Military honors were rendered by the North Georgia Honor Guard. The following gentlemen served as honorary pallbearers: Larry Chastain, Tony Byrd, Todd Pack, Jerry Wilson, Bill Wilson, Corey King, and Jason Woody. The family visited with friends at the funeral home on Sunday afternoon, prior to the service, from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m.

At a later date, Mr. Qualls will be laid to rest in the Georgia National Cemetery.
