Obituary

Mr. Robert Sylvester Plush, age 85, of Blue Ridge passed away Wednesday, August 8, 2007 at his home. Born in Fannin County, he was the son of the late Gustav Plush and Mattie Mae Russell Plush. He worked as a barber for over 20 years. Mr. Plush was a member of Eastside Church of Christ and was a World War II veteran, serving in the United States Army.
He was preceded in death by brothers, Fred Freeman and James Lynn Plush and sisters, Frankie Mae Norton and Ruby Marler.

He is survived by his wife, Willa Nell Rogers Plush of Blue Ridge; five sons, Robert Charles Plush of Blue Ridge, William Gary Plush of Blue Ridge, James Raymond Plush of Epworth, Jerry Lee Plush of Blue Ridge, and Bobby Joe Plush of Blue Ridge; two daughters, Betty Sue Barfield of Blue Ridge and Willa Mae Holloway of Ellijay; 17 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren.

Funeral services were conducted Saturday, August 11, 2007 at 4:00 p.m. from the Akins of Blue Ridge Chapel with Min. Dennis Morris officiating. Pallbearers were Mike Holloway, Jason Holloway, James Holloway, Jody Barfield, Phillip Wells, and Brandon Plush. Honorary pallbearers were Andrew Plush, Daniel Shane Plush, and John Painter. Interment followed in Macedonia Church of Christ Cemetery.
