Robert John "Bob" McFarland, age 80 of Cleveland, TN passed away November 21, 2014 at the Sky Ridge Medical Center in Cleveland, TN. Mr. McFarland was born in Milwaukee, WI on July 1, 1934. He served his country in the United States Coast Guard from 1954-1962. Bob was also a retired Banker after many years in Ft. Laurderdale, FL. Survivors include his wife of 34 years, Geneva Reid Blackwell McFarland of the home; children and their spouses, Debbie McFarland Oswald and husband Steve of AZ, Barbara McFarland Lombardi of Cleveland, TN, Susan McFarland Boring Rhodes also of Cleveland, TN, David and Janett Blackwell of Madisonville, TN, Reid and Sherry Blackwell of Turtletown, TN and Jody and Margaret Blackwell of Salisbury, NC; brother, Richard "Dick" McFarland of FL; six grandchildren, Daniel Shields, Russell Blackwell, Traci Hamilton, Chris Blackwell, Melinda Griffith and Felicia Russell; twelve great grandchildren; and two great great grandchildren.Memorial Services will be conducted on Saturday, December 6, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. from the Akins Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Tom Jordan officiating. A Eulogy will be provided by Mr. Jody Blackwell. Military Honors will be provided by the North Georgia Honor Guard. Interment will follow in the Liberty Cemetery.
