Robert "Bob" Louis Greene, age 91, of Powell, TN, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, the 9th of January, 2024. He is survived by his wife, Sonja Cook Greene; daughter, Donna (Jeff) Prendergast; sons, Scott (Melody) Payne, David Greene, and Patrick Payne; grandchildren, Tori (Michael) O'Neal, Mary Cate (Jeffrey) O'Neil, Sam (Autumn) Prendergast, Benjamin Payne, Diana Greene, Kristina Greene, Elena Greene.

Bob was born on October 20, 1932 in Sallis, MS to the late Walter D. and Myrle Boyett Greene. He is survived by his brother, Jim (Gail) Greene. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Billy.

Bob was a graduate of Mississippi State University, and honorably served his country in the United States Navy. He worked for many years as an electrical engineer for Siemens. He was a member of Temple Baptist Church in Powell, and taught Bible study for many years.

When Bob met his beautiful wife, Sonja, it was love at first sight. They had a wonderful life together for more than 46 years. They shared their faith, a love of family, and enjoyed working in their garden together. His children and grandchildren often sought his advice and wisdom, which was always given with patience and kindness. He was a true Southern gentleman.

Funeral services were conducted on Sunday, January 14, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at the Akins-Cobb Blue Ridge Chapel, Blue Ridge, GA with Gary Crotty, M. Div. officiating. Music was provided by Vicki and Chris Fontana. Interment followed at the Crestlawn Cemetery, Copperhill, TN with Scott Payne, Patrick Payne, Sam Prendergast, Benjamin Payne, Jeffrey O'Neil, and Michael O'Neal serving as pallbearers. Tori O'Neal and Mary Cate O'Neil served as honorary pallbearers.
