Mr. Robert Allen Hitt, age 58, of Blue Ridge, GA passed away Tuesday, June 16, 2009 at his home. He was born in Cobb County, GA on April 12, 1951. He retired from Cobb County Park Service where he served as superintendent. He was a Vietnam veteran, serving in the United States Army. He was a devout A.A. member and was of the Christian faith. He was preceded in death by his father, Jeff Hitt.He is survived by his wife, Wanda Hitt of Blue Ridge; son, Robert Allen Hitt II of Cartersville, GA; daughter, Jenny Drummond and husband Simon of Cartersville; stepson, Matthew Decenzo and wife Tonia of Newnan, GA; mother, Elizabeth Hixson; stepmother, Gloria Hitt; brother, Danny Hitt of Marietta, GA; sister, Cindy Dalola of Clinton, TN; stepbrothers, David Hyatt of Hiram, GA and Donald Hyatt of Blue Ridge; and six grandchildren.Funeral services were conducted Thursday, June 18, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. from the Akins of Blue Ridge Chapel with Chaplain Jim Lang officiating.
