Robert Hood "Corky" Harris, age 93, of Madisonville, formerly of Copperhill, passed away on Tuesday, February 4, 2025. Corky was born on January 16, 1932 in Copperhill to the late Robert Edward Harris and Nancy Fair Harris. He was a long time member of Mine City Baptist Church in Ducktown, and in recent years, a member of South Madisonville Baptist Church. Corky served in the United States Army. He is preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Nancy Harris; and siblings, Fritz Harris, Norman Harris, Mary Lou Prince, Mattie Owensby, Archie Harris, and Willard Harris.

Corky is survived by his wife, Yolanda Harris; son and daughter-in-law, Rev. Rick and Connie Harris; daughter, Robin Moore; step-sons, Denny (Susan) Elrod and Danny Elrod; grandchildren, Nathan (Brittany) Harris and Kaitlyn (Cody) Atkins; and at the time of his passing, he was anticipating the arrival of two great-grandchildren, Harrison Atkins and Weston Atkins.

Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, February 8, 2025 at 11:00 am from the Mine City Baptist Church with Rev. Rick Harris officiating. Music will be provided by the Mine City Trio and Ava Smith. Mr. Harris will lie in state at the church on Saturday, prior to the service, from 10:00 am until 11:00 am. Interment will follow in the Zion Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Nathan Harris, Mike McNabb, Kevin Brown, Cody Atkins, Dewey Owensby, and Roger Owensby. Honorary pallbearers will be the men of Mine City Baptist Church. The family will receive friends at Akins-Cobb Funerals & Cremations of Copperhill on Friday, February 7, 2025 from 5:00 PM and 7:00 PM.
