The Akins Funeral Home of Copperhill announces the death of Mr. Robert M. (Bob) Grice, age 70, a former resident of the Basin area, who passed away on Tuesday, February 22, 2011, in a Nashville, TN hospital. He was born on October 29, 1940 in Bibb County, GA to the late Earl Jackson and Linnie Foreman Grice. Bob was retired from Asbestos Local 46 as a pipe coverer in Knoxville, TN. He was a member of North Cleveland Baptist Church. Bob was preceded in death by a son, Michael Grice. Survivors include a son, Samuel Justus Grice of Nashville, TN. A remembrance of his life graveside service will be conducted on Sunday, February 27, 2011 at 4:30 p.m. at the Spurling Cemetery with Rev. Guinn Green officiating. Pallbearers will be Henry Nelms, Dave Garrison, Darryl Harrison, Zane Chancey, Rick Dockery and Justus Grice.
