Robert Lee Crawford, age 58, of Epworth, Georgia passed away on Wednesday, May 7, 2025 in Dalton, Georgia.
Robert was born on October 2, 1966, in Polk County, Tennessee, to Roy Lee and Bobbie Lou Galloway Crawford. He was a member of Shady Grove Baptist Church and worked for many years as a sales representative for TDS Telecom. He loved caring for animals, especially chickens and cattle. Robert enjoyed singing conventions, where he appreciated the music and fellowship. He often visited Cades Cove and Townsend, and had a deep appreciation for Amish farms, forming lasting friendships during his visits.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Sammy and Pearl Dills Crawford and Robert Francis and Effie Thomas Galloway; and special cousin, Greg S. Crawford.
Robert is survived by his parents, Roy Lee and Bobbie Lou Crawford of McCaysville, GA; special cousin, Mary Claud Crawford of Knoxville, TN; also very special Amish buddies, Paul Martin, Lester Rhodes, and Ervin Rhodes all of Delano, TN, David Hadley of Englewood, TN, Jonathan Hadley and family, Jonathan Vermont, Luke Hufford, and Josh Hufford.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday, May 13, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. from the Akins-Cobb Blue Ridge Chapel with Rev. Robby Chastain and Rev. Steve Jones officiating. Music was provided by the Ebenezer Baptist Church Choir and the Turniptown Baptist Church Choir. Interment followed in the Mountain View Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Sam Rickett officiating. The following served as pallbearers: Jeff Williams, Jackie Housley, Steve Bollinger, Bobby Nicholson, Branson Chastain, and Jonathan Gibson. Serving as honorary pallbearers were: the former Sky City employees, TDS Telecom employees, fellow classmates of the Fannin County High School class of 1985, and the Fannin County Co-Op Board of Directors. The family visited with friends at the funeral home on Monday evening, May 12, 2025 from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.
