Mr. Robert K. Ballew, 84 of Blue Ridge, GA passed away on April 29, 2010. Born in Copperhill, TN, he was the son of the late Robert Fulton Ballew and Helen King Ballew. He served this country in the Army Air Force. He was also a longtime member the Blue Ridge United Methodist Church and had practiced Law in Blue Ridge since 1953. Mr. Ballew was a former Georgia State Senator and former Mayor of the City of Blue Ridge. He was also a 32 degree Mason and Member of the Shrine. Survivors include his wife of sixty years, Nanette T. Ballew of Blue Ridge, GA; son Robert K. Ballew II, of Blue Ridge, GA; daughter, Kay Ballew Davis of Morganton, GA; grandchildren, Stephanie B. (Scott) Cook, Robert K. Ballew III and Kimberly Kay Ballew; great grandchildren, Walker Robert-John Ballew and Gavin Christian Cook; siblings and their spouses, Martha B. and Ken Luck, , Mary B. and Floyd Hedberg all of Richmond, VA, Betty B. and L.J. Sarrell of Blue Ridge, GA, Charles E. and Linda Ballew of Rockmart, GA and Thomas J. and Suzanne Ballew Smyrna Memorial services were Saturday May 8, at 2:00 p.m. from the Blue Ridge UMC with Dr. John Brantley and Dr. Tom Jordan officiating.
