Rita Carmen DeLorme, age 81, of Young Harris passed away Thursday, February 15, 2018 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville. Mrs. DeLorme was born in Waterville, Maine on June 24, 1936 to the late Ulric and Jeanne Deschaine and had served most of her life as a communications operator for various companies but most of all at William Beaumont Hospital. She was a devout member of the Catholic Faith who was also an active Volunteer with the American Red Cross. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by two brothers, Raymond Deschaine and Reginald Deschaine. She is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Doug DeLorme; sons, Dale DeLorme of Lum, MI, Dean (Angela) DeLorme of Blue Ridge, GA, and Darren DeLorme of Warren, MI; a sister, Lucille LaPointe of Winslow, ME; and grandchildren, Ashley Panter and Kelsey Panter.A memorial service will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made in Mrs. DeLorme's memory to the Northeast Georgia Red Cross for Towns County Disaster Services at P.O. Box 3370, Gainesville, GA 30503.
