Mr. Richard Lee Warren, age 61, of Blue Ridge, formerly of Ponca City, OK, passed away Thursday, January 8, 2009 in the Fannin Regional Hospital in Blue Ridge, GA. Born in Kansas City, Missouri, he was the son of the late George Warren and Georgia Dibble Warren. He worked as a printer for North Georgia RESA. He was Christian of the Methodist faith. Mr. Warren was avid motorcycle rider and liked to participate in motorcycle charity runs and liked deer hunting. He was a United States Navy veteran. He was also preceded in death by his son Richard Lance Warren.Survivors include his wife of 17 years Rosemary Ann "Cox" Warren of Blue Ridge; daughters and son-in-law, Tara Warren Lowery and Christi and Shane Barton of Evanston, Wyoming; stepson, Steve Yocum, Jr; sister and brother-in-law, Sue and Doug Patterson of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; three grandchildren, Christopher Barton, Kassan Barton, Shaelynn Lowery; nieces, Michelle Bayless, Vicky Higginson; great niece, Jaden Bayless; and cousins, Danny and wife Becky Lawry, and Debbie Gilliland. Funeral services were conducted Sunday, January 11, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. from the Akins of Blue Ridge Chapel with Rev. Harold Willis officiating. Honorary Pallbearers were Mike Cox, Danny Lawry, Shane Barton, Jimmy Cox, Doug Patterson, and Dawayne Huertson. Military rites were conducted by the North Georgia Honor Guard.
