Richard Darrell, better known as "Rick", Nicholson, age 66, passed away on Thursday, December 8, 2022 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center surrounded by his loving wife and his daughter. Mr. Nicholson was born on June 20, 1956 in Copperhill, TN to the late Reed "Monk" Nicholson and Betty Loretta Powell Nicholson. Rick had many trades during his lifetime, from working at the family hardware store to running his own oil business to becoming a contractor later in life. He enjoyed farming, raising cattle, and photography. However, his true passion was his family, especially his grandchildren. Rick was of Baptist faith.

He is preceded in death by his father, Reed "Monk" Nicholson, and daughter, Kristy Shields.

Rick is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Betty Ann Nicholson; daughter and son-in-law, Alicia and Devin Dilbeck; mother, Betty Nicholson; grandchildren, Hallie Dilbeck and Grant Dilbeck; sister and brother-in-law, Joyce and Gary Kidd; and nephew, Jared (Kate) Kidd.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, December 11, 2022 from 2:00 p.m. till 4:00 p.m. Interment will follow at a later date.
