Richard Stanley LeGendre, age 62, passed away Sunday, June 15, 2008 at Peachtree Christian Hospice in Duluth, GA. Mr. LeGendre was born in Wayne County, MI to the late Leo Glenerd and Helen Bujalaski LeGendre. He retired after twenty-six years of service from the Wayne County Sheriff's Department as a deputy sheriff. Mr. LeGendre was a member of Bethany Church.We have lost the strongest person any of us have ever known and loved by many. Mr. LeGendre is survived his wife, Sonja LeGendre of Mineral Bluff, GA; two daughters, Charlene Wandell of Monroe, MI and Rickie Wenzel of Monroe, MI; two sons, Eric LeGendre of Mineral Bluff, GA and Kyle LeGendre of St. Pete Beach, FL; two stepchildren, Raymond Lee LeGendre of Pahoa, HI and Regina McNeill of Knoxville, TN; two brothers, Raymond Phillip LeGendre of Morganton, GA and Thomas LeGendre of Brownstown, MI; twelve grandchildren; nieces, nephews and a large number of friends.Funeral services were conducted Thursday, June 19, at 2:00 p.m. from the Bethany Church with the Rev. Jimmy Dickey officiating. Music was by Joey Cook and Charlene Wandell. Interment followed in the Bethany Church Cemetery. Pallbearers were Raymond LeGendre, Eric LeGendre, Kyle LeGendre, Herman Waters, Tommy Hedden and Tommy LeGendre.
