Richard D. Briggs, age 83, of Blue Ridge, passed away on Saturday, January 12, 2019 at his home. He was a member of New Canaan Baptist Church and served in the United States Army. He had worked as a talented Cabinet Maker for many years. Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Judy Briggs; daughters and sons-in-laws, Victoria and Robert Martin of Jacksonville, FL, Lisa and Ted Hill of McCaysville, GA, Shirley and Jeff Stanley, Kathryn Briggs and Sally and Larry Wooten all of Blue Ridge, GA and Laura and Troy Davis of Mineral Bluff, GA; 21 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends also survive. Graveside services will be conducted on Wednesday, January 16, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. from the New Canaan Baptist Church Cemetery with Pastor William Gravitt and Pastor Mike Jerrett officiating.
