Rev. Edward Worthy, age 76 of Farner, TN passed away on Sunday, August 1, 2010 at Copper Basin Hospital surrounded by his family. Rev. Worthy was born on January 24, 1934 in Polk County, TN to the late Walter and Ellar Taylor Worthy. He was self employed as an auto painter and repairman. Rev. Worthy enjoyed fishing, hunting and gardening. He was a member of Sunny Point Baptist Church. Rev. Worthy was preceded in death by brothers, Lester and Hershel Worthy.He is survived by wife, Willie Worthy; two daughters and sons-in-law, Debbie and T.J. Hicks of Farner, TN, Paula and Jim Womble of Farner, TN; two sisters and brother-in-law, Gladys and Gary Duggan of Farner, TN and Jean Raper of Kokomo, IN; one brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Ruby Worthy of Farner, TN; sister-in-law, Fannie Worthy of Kokomo, IN; four grandchildren, Shawn Key, Jason Baldwin, Krystal Minnick and Hope Graves; nine great-grandchildren, Dakota, Benjamin, Mason, Hunter, Kristin, Allie, Nicholas, Tony and Corey.Funeral services were conducted Wednesday, August 4, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. from the Akins of Copperhill Chapel with Rev. Wayne Carter and Rev. Winston Payne officiating. Music was by Janice Reid. Pallbearers were Shawn Key, Dakota Key, Charles Duggan, Terry Duggan, Jason Baldwin and Stan Minnick. Honorary Pallbearers were Gilbert Ingle, Leland Jones, Dan Underwood, Harold Dale, Randy Cole and Ricky Boring.
