Reverend David Watson, age 81, of Dalton, GA, departed this life Thursday afternoon, September 25, 2008 at the Hamilton Medical Center in Dalton, GA. Reverend Watson was born January 31, 1927 in Fannin County, GA, the son of the late Harry A. and Adline Foster Watson. He was preceded in death by his daughters, Merinda Watson and Deloras Garrison; a brother, Delmar Watson and a sister, Lillie Ann Hooker. Reverend Watson was ordained in October, 1957 and was the pastor of several churches in the Whitfield and Murray Counties. He was a member of Harmony Grove Baptist Church. He was retired from World Carpet where he worked for over thirty-eight years. He is survived by his wife of fifty-eight years, Beulah Postell Watson of the home; sons and daughters-in-law, Nathan and Cheryl Watson, Neal and Karlene Watson all of Dalton, GA; daughter and sons-in-law, Karen and Larry Springfield of Rocky Face, GA, Dennis Garrison of Dalton, GA; grandchildren, Kelly and Tracy Mardis, April and Tim McCurdy, Mark and Beth Jones, Adam and Olya Coker, Jeremy and April Watson, Erica Watson, Tyler Watson, twelve great-grandchildren; brother and sisters-in-law, Richard and Betty Watson of Dalton, GA, Lois Watson of Blue Ridge, GA; sisters and brothers-in-law, Lucy and Jess Postell of Blue Ridge, GA, Arlene and Kenneth Morgan of Dalton, GA; several nieces and nephews also survive. Services to celebrate the life of Reverend David Watson were Sunday, September 28, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. from the Harmony Grove Baptist Church with Reverend Johnny Beason, Reverend Lamar Beason, Reverend Donny Flood and Reverend Crafton Dover officiating.
