Rev. Jimmy Verner age 79 of McCaysville, GA passed away on April 25, 2019. He was born on May 7, 1939 in Copperhill, TN and graduated from West Fannin High School in 1957. Rev. Verner was an automobile mechanic, a supermarket butcher and an ordained Baptist Minister. He preached in various locations and on the WPPL radio station. Rev. Verner was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard A. Verner and Ethel Bell Verner; brother, Marvin Verner of Blue Ridge; half-brother, Elvin Denton and grandson, Christopher Verner.
Survivors include his wife, Alma Loretta Allen Verner of McCaysville, GA; sons, Eddie Morris Verner of Copperhill, TN and Jamison Scott Verner of Old Fort, TN; daughter, Jessica Hope Verner of McCaysville, GA; brothers, Hoyt Verner of McCaysville, GA, Morris Verner of McCaysville, GA, Lloyd Verner of OH and Delton Vernon of Atlanta, GA; sisters, Edith Ballew of McCaysville, GA and Mildred Dickey of TX and grandchildren, Stephanie Verner, Brittany Graves (Devin), Jennifer Levins (Michael) and Kayla Boehning also survive.
Mr. Verner was cremated. No visitation or services were planned. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.akinsfuneralhome.com. Akins Funeral Home of Copperhill was in charge of the arrangements.
