Rev. Coy Dale Roper, age 60 of Blue Ridge passed on away Friday, January 13, 2017 at home. Rev. Roper was born on July 14, 1956 in Fannin County to the late Coy Pinkney Roper and Geraldine Allen Roper. He worked at Glidden Paint Company on the dock for twenty years, Fannin Regional Hospital maintenance for fifteen years and pastored Grace Baptist Church in Marietta, GA. Rev. Roper was a member of The Rock Community Church. He was preceded in death by his parents and also his wife, Valerie Ann Nichols Roper.Survivors are his wife, Bonnie C. Roper of Blue Ridge, GA; daughter, Kayla Roper Cook of Blue Ridge, GA; step-daughter, Lindsey Pearce and husband, Jeremy of Winston Salem, NC; step-son, Aaron Rogers and wife, Amanda of Blue Ridge, GA; brother, Michael Roper and Sheril of Acworth, GA; brother-in-law, Gary Nichols and wife Jo of Blue Ridge, GA; sister, Ginger Roper of Kennsaw, GA; sisters-in-law, Debbie Mitrosky, Sandy Eady and husband, Jessie, Vivian Sikes and Violet Creech; nephews and nieces, Mike Roper and wife, Mandy, Amber Roper, Vicky Collis and husband, Chris, Chris Sikes and Steve Sikes; six grandchildren, A.J Cook, Abri Cook, Mercy Cook, Kayleigh Rogers, Kamryn Pearce and Anson Rogers; a large number of other relatives and friends also survive.Funeral services were conducted on Sunday, January 15, 2017 at 3:00 p.m. from the The Rock Community Church with Rev. Renny Ryder officiating. Pallbearers were Reuben Shumway, Aaron Rogers, Jessie Eady, Jeff Nicholson, Gary Nichols and Michael Roper Jr. Interment followed in the Toccoa Baptist Church Cemetery.
