The Akins Funeral Home of Blue Ridge announces the death of Rev. Billy Marlin Rhodes, age 74, of Marietta, GA who passed away Friday, September 25, 2009 at his home. Mr. Rhodes was born in Coolidge County, GA on July 22, 1935 to the late Henry Rhodes and Mary Poston Rhodes. He was a retired watch repairman and was a United States Navy veteran. He is survived by his wife, Emma Rhodes of Marietta; sons and daughters-in-law, Tony Marlin and Patricia Rhodes of Taylorsville, GA and Dwayne and Rebecca Allen of Rogers, KY; daughters and sons-in-law, Cindy Ann and Brandon Ledbetter of Whitesburg, GA, Pamela Lou and Daniel Branch of Ocila, FL, and Paula Lynn and Jerry May of Woodstock, GA; brother, Henry Derrill Rhodes of Moultrie, GA; sisters, Betty Sledge of Moultrie, GA and Alice B. of Louisiana; 10 grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, September 27, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. from the Akins of Blue Ridge Chapel with Rev. James Cantrell officiating. Music will be by Teresa Stepp. Pallbearers will be Andy Cole, Randy Tucker, Joseph Fowler, Keith Ledbetter, and Danny Cole. Interment will follow in Sunrise Tabernacle Cemetery with full military honors by North Georgia Honor Guard.
