Obituary

Rev. Keith Jones, age 65, of Epworth, GA passed away Thursday, November 16, 2017 at his home. Rev. Jones was born in Macon, GA on April 29, 1952. He was a Baptist minister for 45 years serving at Morganton Baptist Church, The North American Mission Board, First Baptist Church of Sandy Springs, GA, Bethabara Baptist Church of Athens, GA, Poplar Springs North of Dublin, GA and was a Member of The Sons of Jubal. Rev. Jones was a professional storyteller. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Blue Ridge. Rev. Jones was a board member of the Byron Herbert Reece Society and was a board member of the UGA Extension Center in Blairsville, GA. He was preceded in death by his father, Rev. Grover Duffie Jones. He is survived by his wife, Debbie Jones of Epworth; sons and daughters-in-law, Brian and Amanda Jones of Euharlee, GA, Nathan and Kayla Jones of Karnes City, TX, and Rev. Matthew and LaTasha Jones of McCaysville; mother, Ethelene Dyer Jones of Milledgeville, GA; sister and brother-in-law, Cyndi and Carlos Berenguer of Milledgeville, GA; and 12 grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted Sunday, November 19, 2017 at 2:30 p.m. from the First Baptist Church of Blue Ridge with Rev. Claude Mathis, Rev. Bob Richardson, Rev. Ken Bennett, and Rev. Matthew Jones officiating. Music was by Pat Young. Pallbearers were Brian Jones, Nathan Jones, Rev. Matthew Jones, Rev. Claude Mathis, David Stuart, and Dr. Phillip Arnall. Interment followed in First Baptist Church Epworth Cemetery. Donations in memory of Rev. Jones may be made to The Byron Herbert Reece Society, P.O.
