Rev. Eugene Worth Chastain, age 77, of Blue Ridge, GA passed away on Friday, March 8, 2013 in Tranquility Hospice at Kennesaw Mountain, Marietta, GA. He was born on April 14, 1935 in Fannin County to the late Paul and Beulah Tarpley Chastain. Rev. Chastain was a loving Father-Husband and Grandfather. He was a member at Young's Chapel Baptist Church, a Baptist minister having pastored several churches in Fannin, Gilmer and Union Counties and was an Ameritis member of Blue Ridge Lodge F&AM #67. Rev. Chastain was employed at Tennessee Chemical Company for several years and was later known for his custom cabinet building. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of fifty-seven years, Inez Patterson Chastain; two brothers, Glen and Wendall Chastain and two sisters, Pauline Chastain and Wilma Horton.Survivors include, daughter, Diane (John) Ritchie; sons, Richard (Brenda) Chastain, Britt (Pearlie Mae) Chastain and Mark (Christal) Chastain; six grandchildren, Amy (Wade) Trew, Misty (Marc) Burnette, Marshall Rhodes, Erica Hope Chastain, Colt Chastain and Case Chastain; five great-grandchildren, Camden and Chloe Thompson, Coleman and Campbell Burnette and Khalon Rhodes; four sisters, Mamie Hart of Blue Ridge, GA, Mozelle Anderson of Blue Ridge, GA, Betty Shook of Fayetteville, GA and Alice (William) Ratcliff of Mineral Bluff, GA; one brother, Paul (Desma) Chastain, Jr. of Naples, FL; sisters-in-law, Shirley Smith of Blue Ridge, GA, Ellene (Larry) Watson of Higdon, GA and Virginia (Eulis) Davis of Blue Ridge, GA; one brother-in-law, Cecil Patterson of Cherry Log, GA; many nieces, nephews, friends and loved ones.Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 11, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. from the Akins of Blue Ridge Chapel with Rev. Larry Williams and Rev. Max Curtis officiating. Music will be by the A.C. Caylor Family. Masonic Rites will be by the Blue Ridge Masonic Lodge #67 F&AM. Pallbearers will be Zack Ratcliff, Troy Chastain, Robert Chastain, Rex Chastain, Gerald Long and Tony Galloway. Honorary Pallbearers will be Eulis Davis and Malcom Davis. Interment will follow in the Young's Chapel Cemetery.
