Mrs. Rena Iowa Allen, age 86, of Blue Ridge passed away Tuesday, February 26, 2008 in the Copper Basin Medical Center in Ducktown, TN. She was born in Fannin County, GA on September 10, 1921 to the late William J. Hughes and Nancy E. Kendall Hughes. She was a member of Salem #1 (Sugar Hill) Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband Homer William Allen and a great-grandson, Zachary Taylor Tritt. She is survived by a son, William David Allen of Oxford, GA; a daughter, Annie Marie Tritt of Blue Ridge; a brother, Clyde Wilburn Hughes of Dahlonega, GA; sisters, Dean Tanner Dean of Blue Ridge and Ruth Ward of Dahlonega; three granddaughters, Sheila Collins of Blairsville, GA, Melissa Miller of Social Circle, GA, and Deborah Burger of Suches, GA; two grandsons, Anthony Tritt of Blairsville, GA and Tim Tritt of Suches, GA; and eleven great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. Funeral services were conducted Thursday, February 28, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. from the Akins of Blue Ridge Chapel with Rev. Tim Garrett and Rev. Paul Tritt officiating. Music was by Iris Tritt and Wynona Tritt. Pallbearers were Tim Tritt, Anthony Tritt, David Miller, Jarod Burger, Jeremy Burger and Austin Collins. Honorary pallbearers were Landon Tritt, David Miller II, Jacob Miller, Isaac Tritt and Logan Tritt. Interment followed in Salem #1 (Sugar Hill) Church Cemetery.
