Raymond Lee Bryan, affectionately known as "Buddy" age 91, of Blue Ridge, GA, passed away on Friday, January 27, 2017 in Braselton, GA. Born on January 5, 1926 in Miami, FL, he was the son of the late Leon and Reba Bryan. He was a member of Hipps Chapel Church. He served in the United States Navy during World War II. He worked as a Current Division Officer for Florida Power and Light. He loved fishing. He is preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Suzette Means; step-son, Fred Cosper; brother, William E. Bryan; and sister, Joy Ann Underwood. He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Reathel Davis Bryan of the home; daughter, Pamela (Edward) Callihan of Dalton, GA; step-daughters, Shelley (Ricky) Cook of Miami, FL, Kim Gratton of Miami, FL, Kathy Walker of Dalton, GA, Sue (Ernie) Carringer of Ellijay, GA, Carol (Joel) Walker of Morganton, GA; son-in-law, Bruce Means of Edmond, OK; daughter-in-law, Janet Cosper of Tallahassee, FL; sisters, Sandra Jean Stewart of Homestead, FL and Patty Marie Smith of Pensacola, FL; 15 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, January 31, 2017, at 2:00 pm from Akins Funeral Home Chapel of Blue Ridge. Rev. Delmar Davenport will officiate. Interment will follow in the Mt. Moriah Baptist Church Cemetery in Blue Ridge, GA with Rev. John Davis officiating. Bruce Means, Tim Powell, Matthew Walker, Edward Callihan, Barry Cox, Daniel Walker will serve as pallbearers. Jaret Walker, Matthew Powell, Bob Adams, Tommy Ash, and Billy Cantrell will serve as honorary pallbearers.
