The Akins Funeral Home of Blue Ridge announces funeral services for Master Randall Dennis Scott Monkus, better known as "Scotty", age six, of Blue Ridge who passed away Saturday, April 24, 2010 in the T.C. Thompson Children's Hospital in Chattanooga, TN. He was born in Blue Ridge, GA on September 22, 2003. He is survived by his parents, Chris and Melissa Laney Monkus of Morganton; sister, Paige Monkus of Morganton; maternal grandparents, Sherry and Dennis Burrell of Blue Ridge; paternal grandparents, Sherry and Randall Monkus of Morganton; great-grandparents, Edna Ware of Hiawassee Dam, NC and Virgie Dye of Morganton. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, April 28, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. from the Akins of Blue Ridge Chapel with Rev. Denny Hawkins and Rev. Mike Collis officiating.
