Rachel Caroline Henderson, age 81, of Blue Ridge, Georgia passed away on Tuesday, January 30, 2024 in Gainesville, Georgia. She was born on April 22, 1942 in Gaffney, South Carolina to the late Tommy B. Wood and Annabelle Smith Wood. Rachel was a member of Temple Baptist Church and served in the Women's Prison Ministry. She had a giving spirit, which led her to volunteer at many local charities such as Habitat for Humanity and the Empty Stocking Program. In her spare time, she enjoyed playing pickle ball.

Along with her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Roy E. Henderson; a son, Blake Henderson; brother, Jimmy Wood; and sister, Anne Wallace.

She is survived by her daughter, Darcey (Danny) Sanders; sons, Scott (Kristi) Henderson and Casey (Jennifer) Henderson; grandchildren, Tyler (Ashley) Sanders, Lee (Erica) Sanders, Wesley (Abigail) Henderson, Will (Sarah) Henderson, Anna Henderson Amy Henderson, Ryan Henderson and Drew Henderson; great grandchildren, Beverly Sanders, Hayden Sanders, Allie Sanders, Annabelle Sanders, Payten Sanders, Maverick Sanders, and Ella Sanders; a brother-in-law, Bill Wallace; and a sister in law, Irene Wood.

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, February 8, 2024 at 11:00 AM in the Chapel of Akins-Cobb of Blue Ridge with Dr. Roger Beck officiating. Visitation will be held prior to the service beginning at 10:00 AM.

Interment will be on Friday, February 9, 2024 at 11:00 AM in the Georgia National Cemetery (2025 Mount Carmel Church Lane Canton, GA 30114) where her grandson's will serve as pallbearers.
