Peggy Ann Floyd, age 72, of Blue Ridge, passed away Friday, March 27, 2015 at her home. Mrs. Floyd was born October 5, 1942 in Fannin County to the late Manual and Gladys Thrasher McVey. She was a member of Sugar Creek Baptist Church. She retired as Deputy Tax Commissioner of Cherokee County, GA. Mrs. Floyd is preceded in death by her husband, David C. Floyd; daughter, Becky Floyd; brothers, Bill McVey, Lloyd McVey, and Pete McVey; sisters, Inez Smith and Louise Stanley.She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Curtis Floyd of Atlanta, Dan and Kim Floyd of Ball Ground, and Dean and Wanda Floyd of Canton; brothers, Edward McVey of Jefferson, NC, and Kenneth McVey of Ellijay; sisters, Jean Slater of Blue Ridge, and Sue Bates of Canton; 6 Grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted Monday, March 30, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. from the Akins Funeral Home of Blue Ridge Chapel. Rev. Larry Williams, Rev. Harold Weeks, and Rev. Kent Samples officiating. Music was provided by Jim and Barbara McVey, Larry Cox, and Sugar Creek Baptist Church Choir. Interment followed in the Sugar Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers were Kevin Lanier, Jeremiah Robinson, Greg Blanton, Adam Dierdorff, Dave Dwyer, Steve Smith, Donnie Arp and Roger Bailey.
