Paul Eavenson, age 94, of Blue Ridge, GA, passed away on December 8, 2020 in the Life Care Center of Copper Basin. Born in Brooklyn, OH, he was the son of the late Landy and Minnie Ella Layne Eavenson. Mr. Eavenson was veteran of the United States Army during World War II at which time he received the Purple Heart and various other medals for his heroic efforts. Paul retired from Doan Electric after a number of years as a Excavator Operator in Cleveland, OH. He was the last of seven siblings which included: Harold Eavenson, Russell Eavenson, Clay Eavenson, Luther Eavenson, Viola "Coke" Nesano and Jean Noss. He was also preceded in death by his loving wife, Lois M. Gregwire Eavenson; and one son, Doug Freed.
Survivors include his children and their spouses, Paul L. and Debbie Eavenson of Morganton, GA, Dale L. and Sheila Eavenson of Epworth,GA, Randy L. Eavenson of Blue Ridge, GA and Mary Williamson of Copperhill, TN; nine grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.
Memorial services were conducted on Saturday, December 12, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. from the Akins Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Tom Jordan officiating. Music was provided by Carol Thomas.
