Patricia Pauline "Pat" Young, age 71, of Stockbridge, GA, went to be with her savior on April 20, 2013 at her home. Mrs. Young was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Young; son, Billy Harkins Young; parents, Woodrow and Minnie Davenport Harkins; grandparents, Thomas and Laura Harkins and Bill and Radie Davenport; sister, Sue Harkins Stanley; brother, Joe Harkins. Pat is survived by sisters and brother-in-laws, Judy and Lynn Hilton of Morganton, GA, Ruby and Troy Kindall of Chatsworth, GA, Carolyn and Wilburn Tipton of Woodstock, GA; brothers and sister-in-laws, Bill and Ora Lou Harkins of Morganton, GA and Bobby Harkins of Chatsworth, GA; sister-in-law, Cheryl Harkins Hayes of Morganton, GA; many great nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and great great nieces and nephews; and her faithful dog companion of many years, "PJ" of the home.Pats greatest joy was her family. She lived her life as a Christian woman and enjoyed being a help to all her family and friends. She always taught people to see the good in everything around them and to love God and everyone. Pat had a heart of gold and lived a long healthy life; she was a beautiful person both inside and out. At Pats' request she was cremated.Memorial services will be conducted on Wednesday April 24, at 2:00 p.m. from the Akins Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Denise Caldwell officiating.
