Obituary

Patricia Ann Greene Welch, of Blue Ridge, woke up in the arms of her Lord and Savior Saturday, January 24.

Born March 31, 1954, to Edward and Shirley, Pat was the eldest daughter and a "battle axe" known for her humor, "camel walk" dance, love of native Indian culture and unwavering support for her family.

After the passing of her only son, Corey Welch, in 2021, she testified regularly of how God showed "through the eyes of a child," her grandsons, that he was in Heaven, and she took comfort in that. Pat believed strongly in the gifts of the Holy Spirit and cherished her faith.

She is preceded in death by her parents, oldest brother Eddie Greene, son, Corey, and granddaughter Eiron Welch.

Surviving is the love of her life and husband Rick Welch, of the home; daughter Summer Allen and Tyler Foster; grandchildren Jozie Welch, Mollie and Morgan Morrow, Patrick and Emma Welch, Rowdy Allen and Cruz Allen; great grandchildren, Phoenix and Honey Morrow; siblings, Delores "Dee" and Larry Robbins and Tony and Janice Greene; nieces, Cristi and Matthew Snyder and Jaime and Ryan Pittman; and numerous other relatives.

Her absence will be felt strongly by all who knew her.

Memorial services were held on Sunday, February 1, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. from the Akins-Cobb Blue Ridge Chapel with Rev. Scott Baugh officiating. The family visited with friends at the funeral home on Sunday, February 1, 2026, prior to the service from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m.
