Obituary

Patricia Shelton Webb, age 80, passed away June 5,2026 in Blue Ridge, GA. She was born in England on March 30,1946. Her mother and father, Evelyn Joan O'Leary and SSgt. William Harvey Shelton, were married during WWII. She lived in England, Texas and then Tifton, Georgia where she really grew up, graduated from High School, and Abraham Baldwin Architectural College. She then moved to Atlanta and received a BA in Child Psychology and Early Development from Georgia State University.

As a woman in the 1960's, she took the job she could get; Control Clerk of the main and only computer room of C&S Bank. It took her a few years to become a supervisor and then she was promoted to Vice President and tripled her salary in seven years - quite a feat for a woman in the 1970s. She later managed all of the operations for Bank South and then merged the entire operations for Bank of America acquisitions of the Southeast. She retired from a very successful business career at age 50 with a full pension. Along the way, Patricia was a Court Appointed Special Advocate, CASA, volunteer helping children of broken families navigate the world and the court system. She was also the co-chair for the United Way campaign for Metropolitan Atlanta and chaired committees for many charitable organizations and events.

The real joys of her life were children, family, and community. On November 26th, in 1983, she married Joe Webb and his two young children, Julie and Emily. They bought a farm outside of Blue Ridge, Georgia as wedding property. In 1994, with the girls grown, Patricia and Joe moved full time to the farm and joined the Library, Arts Association and registered to vote.

By 2000, they had built their dream house and farmstead but instead of taking life easy, Patricia helped found the Blue Ridge Community Theater and then in 2002, Sunny D Children's Theater. For the next quarter century, she led both to great success. Most important was the joy she shared with hundreds of children and their families. She was "Ms. Pat". Children ran to her to hug her. Ms. Pat had a child's trust and faith in people and the universe. She was in awe of things. She saw the beauty and delight, she believed.

In the 25 years as Ms. Pat Sunny D had 3,500 acting roles auditioned and casted by children aged 5-18. She changed lives and had great joy. In 2024, she was one of ten awarded the Georgia Governor's Award for Humanity and the Arts. In 2025, she was made the 16th Life Member of the 50 year old Fannin County Chamber of Commerce. Her Sunny D kids are now grown and running the theater, a true legacy to Ms. Pat's love and passion.

Patricia died at home suddenly, with her husband by her side and without pain. She is survived by her husband Joe, daughters Julie and Emily, her brother Gary, son-in-law and grandson Jay and Jesse, and many in-laws, outlaws, cousins, nieces, and nephews. She loved the land, and she loved the people.

A Memorial Service and Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, July 25, 2026 at 2:00 pm at St. Luke's Episcopal Church located at 7 Ewing Street, Blue Ridge, GA, with a reception to follow.

Blue Ridge Community Theater will hold a Remembrance and dedicate a Garden and Fountain in Patricia's memory on Saturday August, 1 2026 at 1 pm located at 2591 East First Street Blue Ridge, GA. A fund has been established by Sunny D Children's Theater to build a separate theater for children. Donations to the fund are suggested in lieu of flowers or food.

Patricia lived a wonderful life and will be remembered as living in joy and grace.
