Mr. Otis Charles Raper, age 83, of Farner, TN passed away Thursday, November 29, 2012 in Erlanger Medical Center in Chattanooga, TN. Mr. Raper was born on June 13, 1929 in Polk County, TN to the late Hayden Raper and Essie Dillard Raper. He worked as a carpenter and was a member of New Zion Baptist Church in Farner, TN. He was preceded in death by a brother, Ernest Howard Raper of Kokomo, Indiana. He is survived by his wife, Pauline Wincey Raper of Farner, TN; son, Charles Otis Raper of Ormond Beach, FL; daughter, Rachel Hart of Florida; stepsons, James Everett Dillard of Lawrenceville, GA, Ronnie Wayne Dillard of Blairsville, GA and Danny Charles Dillard of Blairsville, GA; stepdaughters, Nora Ann Sparks of Morganton, GA, Debra Jane Kyle of Cherry Log, GA, Sharon Kay Heatherly of Acworth, GA, and Karen Jo Gibbs of Mineral Bluff, GA; 18 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Memorial services will be held Saturday, December 1, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. from the Akins of Blue Ridge Chapel with Rev. Farris Reed officiating. Interment will be in Brock Cemetery.
