Mr. Otis Eugene "Gene" Kyle, age 75, formerly of McCaysville, GA passed away on September 12, 2010. Born in Fannin County, GA he was the son of the late Otis Emery and Mae Ladora Chancey Kyle. He was a Korean war veteran serving in the United States Army. He worked as a butcher for Colonial Food Stores for a number of years. Survivors include one brother, Glenn Douglas Kyle and wife Carolyn of Chatsworth, GA; one sister, Geneva Huddleston Stage and husband Kenny of Elwood, Indiana; sister-in-law, Lillian Kyle of McCaysville, GA; five nieces also survive. Funeral services were conducted Wednesday, September 15, 2010 at 4:00 p.m. from the Akins Funeral Home Chapel with Min. Tommy Kyle officiating. Music was provided by the Boardtown Church of Christ Choir. Interment followed in the Mt. Moriah Church Cemetery with the following gentlemen serving as pallbearers: Buck Welch, Gerald Chancey, Johnny Chancey, James Young, Benny Kyle, and Donald Chancey.
