The Akins Funeral Home of Copperhill announces the death of Norman Lafette Harris, age 83, of Copperhill, TN who passed away Thursday, August 18, 2011. Mr. Harris was born in Polk County to the late Robert Edward and Nancy Fair Craig Harris. Mr. Harris enjoyed working on his farm as a pastime. He was preceded in death by his wife, Hazel Burger Harris and a son, Daniel Lee Harris.He is survived by daughters, Janet (Andrew) Chwan of Fair Haven, MI, Diane (David) Scherer of Harrison Township, MI; brother, Corky (Yolanda) Harris of Copperhill, TN; sister, Mary Lou Prince of Ducktown, TN; six grandchildren.Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, August 23rd at 2:00 p.m. from the Akins of Copperhill Chapel with Rev. Jeremiah Jack officiating. Music will be by Kenneth Holder, Marvin Rose and Ava Smith. Pallbearers include Andy Chwan, Derek Chwan, Allen Chwan, Ricky Harris, Bobby Owensby, Dewey Owensby. Interment will follow in the Zion Hill cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday evening from 6:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M.
