Nina Bonita Patterson, age 89, of Blue Ridge, passed away on Sunday, February 16, 2025. She was born on December 11, 1935, in Blue Ridge, to the late Henry Phillips and Celia Williams Phillips. Bonita was a member of Barnes Chapel Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, J.L. Patterson. Bonita loved her family and looked forward to family get togethers. She was an avid quilter, making all her family quilts. Bonita loved to babysit her grandchildren and listen to old gospel music.

Bonita is survived by her children, Cynthia (Roy) Bradburn, Annette (Craig) Bearden, Susan (Steve) Campbell, Terry (Donna) Patterson; grandchildren, Scott (Lana) Bradburn, Chris (Julie) Bradburn, Jeremy (Nikki) Bradburn, Kimberly (Timmy) Brannon, Ryan (Rebecca) Campbell, Derek (Brittany) Patterson, Justin (Kelly) Bearden, Jessica Cannon, Allison (Thomas) Davino; brother, Donald (Joyce) Phillips; sister, Tommie Bennett; twenty-one great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.

A funeral service was held on Saturday, February 22, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. from the Akins-Cobb Blue Ridge Chapel with Chris Bradburn officiating. Music was provided by Nikki Bradburn and Shannon Bradburn. Interment followed in the Barnes Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. David Mashburn officiating. Graveside music was provided by Isaiah Gray. Pallbearers were Scott Bradburn, Jeremy Bradburn, Ryan Campbell, Derek Patterson, Justin Bearden, and Lucas Roof. Honorary pallbearers were Bonita's great-grandchildren. The family visited with friends at the funeral home on Friday, February 21, 2025 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m..
