Nella Ruth Johnson, age 77, of Copperhill, TN, passed away Saturday, August 18, 2012 in the Erlanger Medical Center in Chattanooga, TN. Nella Ruth was born in Blue Ridge, GA to the late Luther and Ada Plemmons Weaver. She was also preceded in death by brothers, Arlon, Alon and Emon Weaver. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Copperhill and retired from Copper Basin High School where she worked as a Secretary and Bookkeeper for over thirty years. Among her hobbies she enjoyed canning, cooking, quilting, shopping and family get togethers, especially at holidays. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who will sadly be missed by her family and friends. She is survived by children, Johnny Johnson and Debra (Gerald,Jr) Hughes; brother, Leland "Bob" (Frances) Weaver of McCaysville, GA; grandchildren, Holly Norton, Heather Hedden, Matthew Hughes, Felicia Johnson; great-grandchildren, Brad Norton, Landon Norton, Avery Hughes, Meredith Hedden and Trenton Hughes.Funeral services will be conducted Monday, August 20th at 11:00 a.m. from the Akins of Copperhill Chapel with Rev. Al Patterson officiating. Music will be by Holly & Ryan Norton and Joey & Michelle Pirkle. Pallbearers include, Stoney Standridge, Ron Singleton, Mike Weaver, Mark Stone, Mark Raper and "Chubb" Patterson. Honorary pallbearers include, Gerald Hughes, Sr, Gary King, Hoyt Firestone, Van Patterson and the Patterson Family. Interment will follow in the Zion Hill cemetery.
