Nathan Daniel Mashburn, age 30, of Murphy, passed away on Tuesday, August 14, 2018 in Murphy, NC. He was born on October 27, 1987 in Ellijay, GA. He was of the Baptist faith. He worked as a Carpenter for R M Construction.He is survived by his daughter, Laney Dixie Mashburn of Ellijay; parents, Charles Lewis and Earlene Dockery Mashburn of Blue Ridge; sister who he thought of like a mother, Denise (Richard) Merrell of Blue Ridge; brothers, Ricky Mashburn (Melissa) of Morganton, Derick Ramsey Mashburn of Blue Ridge, Christopher Merrell (Kaileigh Satterfield) of Lawrenceburg, TN, and Michael Merrell (Carley Sisson) of Blue Ridge; and sisters, Sherry Mashburn (Jeremiah Greene) of Morganton, Cindy Resendiz (Marin) of Blue Ridge, Whitney (James) Barrilleaux and Brittany Mashburn of Blue Ridge. Funeral services were conducted on Friday, August 17, 2018, at 2:00 pm from the Chapel of Akins Funeral Home with Pastor Asa Dockery officiating. Interment followed in the Sunrise Tabernacle Church Cemetery with Rev. Asa Dockery officiating. Pallbearers were Christopher Merrell, Michael Merrell, Bailey Welch, Brandon Miller, Adam Powers, Chris Martin, and Joshua Mashburn. Donations may be made to help defray funeral expenses.
