Nanette Talley Ballew, 95, of Blue Ridge, Georgia, passed away peacefully at her home on August 24th surrounded by her loved ones.

She was born on February 3rd ,1931 in Ducktown, Tennessee to the late Arthur Harold Talley and Florene Blankenship Talley. Nan graduated from Ducktown High School in 1949 and married Robert King Ballew in McCaysville, Georgia on July 3rd , 1949. The couple moved to Knoxville, Tennessee for Robert to attend Law School at The University of Tennessee. While there, Nan modeled for JCPenney's Fashion Shows. After graduation, Bob and Nan moved back to McCaysville where Bob opened his law practice and the couple started their family.

Nan became a mother to Sara Kay and Robert King II and her life was full making their home permanent in Georgia. They later moved to Blue Ridge in 1967. Nan was a member of the Blue Ridge United Methodist Church and served on the Worship Committee. Everyone that attended the church will remember her beautiful altar display at Thanksgiving as well as her other floral arrangements.

She was an original member of the Pink Ladies Auxiliary at Fannin Regional Hospital, a member of the McCaysville Garden Club, Merry Makers Social Club, and enjoyed interior design and painting. She was an avid fan of Elvis, leopard print, and traveling, especially to Hawaii. Throughout their life together, Nan and Bob enjoyed raising Tennessee Walking Horses and entertaining friends and family at their home.

Nanette was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Robert, her brother David L. Talley, and her sister, Easter Talley Johnston.

She is survived by her daughter Kay Davis and son, Rob Ballew. She was a loving Nana to her grandchildren Stephanie (Scott) Cook, Bobby (Delana) Ballew, and Kimberly (Gene) McClure and great-grandchildren Gavin, Garrett, and Grayson Cook and Walker, Braxton, and Beaux Ballew. She is also survived by her brothers Frank Talley and Victor Talley, many favorite nieces and nephews, and dear, life-long friends.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
