Nancy Gibson Patterson, 68 of 433 Nimmons Bridge Road, Salem, S.C. went to be with her Lord Jesus on Friday May 18th at the Oconee Memorial Hospital. She is survived by her husband Pastor Stanley B. Patterson. Nancy, a native of Tennessee, was the daughter of the late Frank and Ruth Gibson of Chattanooga, Tenn. She graduated from Girls Preparatory School in 1962 and Clemson University with a B.S. degree in Mathematics. She was a retired math instructor at the Tri-County Technical College in Pendleton, S.C. and earned the South Carolina Teacher of the Year award while Director of Developmental Studies. After retirement she and her husband ministered extensively in healing ministries among many denominations. She was an accomplished editor and publisher for many national writers of Appalachian music, quantitative physics and spiritual books. Nancy was a member of High Praises Church of God in the Anderson-Williamston community and enjoyed assisting as a pianist for their choir. Nancy was ordained as a Pastor in recognition of her ministry and calling in the Church of Our Lord Jesus Christ by Still Waters International Ministries. She is survived by her brothers, Martin and wife, Yvonne Davis of Killarney, FL, Don and wife, Diana Davis of Tucson, AZ and daughters, Stancey and husband, Dave Sherman of Wheaton, IL, Shannon and husband, Marshall Davis of Charles Town, WV; sons, Kevin Patterson M. D. of Salem, SC; Shawn and wife, Rita Patterson of Anderson SC, Keene Patterson of Charles Town WV; grandchildren, Laura and Jessica Sherman, Kaylyn and Brendan Patterson, Dr. Shane and Rebecca Patterson, Ashley and Jeremy Patterson, Hunter and Jennifer Davis; great-grandchildren, Megan, Ryan, Max, Samantha and Alyssa; cousins, Rick and Betty Nicholson of Turtletown, TN; numerous nieces and nephews. Celebration services were held at the High Praises Church of God on Saturday May 26th at 10:00 A.M. The service was officiated by Pastor Chris Sustar and husband Pastor Stanley Patterson. Internment was at the Liberty Cemetery, Murphy, NC at 6:00 P.M. the same day following a short viewing at the Akins Funeral Home 823 Ocoee Street Copperhill, TN.In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the High Praises Church of God 4506 Midway Road, Williamston, SC 29697 or the Nancy G.
