Nancy Nell Dockrey, age 81, of Epworth, passed away on Monday, December 2, 2024. She was born on September 15, 1943, in Copperhill, TN, to the late Albert Dillard and Hassie Denton Dillard. Nancy was a member of Simonds Chapel Baptist Church. She worked for many years at Levi Strauss, JHK, American Uniform, and later for herself, as a seamstress. She was a great athlete and was MVP of the Hiawassee Dam High School basketball team, excelled in women's league softball and later in tennis. Nancy is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Lon Gerald Dillard; son-in-law, Scott R. Hamilton; and siblings, Sam Dillard and Lil Dillard.

Nancy is survived by her children, Kevin (Carlean) Dockrey, Karen Hamilton, Karl Dockrey, and Kimberly (Brian) Dean; grandchildren, Kendra (Teddy) Cash, Kaby (Josh Jones) Hamilton, Elisha (Rev. Grayson) Jones, Heather Dockrey, Michael Dockrey, Christy Dockrey, Brittany Dockrey, Bridget Dockrey, Travis Queen, Elle (Tyler) Townsend, Will Dean, Kassie Dean, Haley Elliot, and Chris Kincannon; ten great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; siblings, Gary (Nancy) Dillard, Susie (Roger) Young, and Jerry Dillard; brothers-in-law, William (Nadine) Dockrey, James (Genevieve) Dockrey, and Jerome (Robin) Dockrey; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Funeral services were held at 1:00 PM, on Thursday, December 5, 2024 from the Akins-Cobb Blue Ridge Chapel with Rev. Randy Hooper officiating. Interment followed in the Simonds Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Scott Baugh officiating. Pallbearers were Kevin Dockrey, Anthony Hughes, Billy Dockrey, Tim Chancey, Teddy Cash, Lee Dillard, and Steven Whitlow. Honorary pallbearers were Karl Dockrey, Rev. Grayson Jones, Brian Dean, Alan Chancey, Brayden Hamilton, Josh Jones, and Michael Dockrey. The familyvisited with friends at the funeral home on Wednesday Evening from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM.
