Mrs. Nancy Rebecca Buchanan, age 84, of Mineral Bluff, GA passed away on October 10, 2014. She was born in Mineral Bluff, GA on February 3, 1930 to the late Otis and Prudence Baugh Nichols. Mrs. Buchanan was a faithful and long time member of the Mineral Bluff Baptist Church. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Glen Buchanan; sons, Dale and Michael Buchanan; son-in-law, Larry Cruse; and seven siblings.Survivors include son and daughter-in-law, Robert "Bob" and Linda Buchanan of Canton, GA; daughter, Sandra Cruse of Morganton, GA; sister, Barbara Rogers of Mineral Bluff, GA; six grandchildren, Brett, Eric, Ryan and Heath Buchanan, Rebecca Michelle Brooks, and Darell Cruse; nine great grandchildren, Rylee and Blake Buchanan, Peyton and Logan Buchanan, Gavin and Payton Buchanan, Shellbie and Toby Brooks and Erica Cruse; many nieces and nephews; and a very special friend, Lucy McKinney.Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, October 13, 2014, at 11:00 a.m. from the Akins Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Randy Hughes and Rev. Brian Clayton officiating. Music will be provided by Lucy McKinney. Interment will follow in the Toccoa Baptist Church Cemetery with the following gentlemen serving as pallbearers: Jimmy Nichols, Brett Buchanan, Ryan Buchanan, Darell Cruse, Shane Brooks, and Jimmy Hopkins, Jr. The family will receive friends at the Funeral Home on Sunday evening from 4p.m. until 7 p.m. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.akinsfuneralhome.com.
