Monteen Pittman Queen, age 69, of McCaysville, GA, passed away Thursday, June 11, 2009. Mrs. Queen was a native of the McCaysville, GA area and was a daughter of the late Lloyd and Elsie Bradley Pittman. She was a homemaker and a member of the Mt. View Baptist Church. She is survived by a son, Henry Queen of McCaysville, GA; two daughters, Melissa Fair of McCaysville, GA, Teresa and husband, Brad York of Copperhill, TN; two sisters, Elene and husband, Melvin Harper of Mineral Bluff, GA, Marlene Payne of McCaysville, GA; sister-in-law, Beatrice Pittman of McCaysville, GA; eight grandchildren, Anthony Queen, Micah Queen, Hannah Queen, R.J. Fair, Zachary Fair, Jessie Miller, Haley York and Freheley Fair; three great grandchildren, Zoey Miller, Heather Miller and Callie Queen. Funeral services were conducted Sunday, June 14th at 2:00 p.m. from the Akins of Copperhill Chapel with Rev. Gary Smith officiating. Pallbearers were Brad York, Jeremy Pittman, James Chandler, Anthony Queen, R.J. Fair and Jessie Miller. Interment followed in the Mt. Liberty Baptist Church cemetery.
