Monnie Emogene Green, age 70, of the Copper Basin, passed away on July 24, 2025. She was a member of Verdon Chapel Baptist Church. Monnie was born in McCaysville, GA on February 20, 1955 to the late Ralph Samuel and Iowa Malene Bolinger Cabrera. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, Willie Green; son, Nathan Chambers; and siblings, Gennett Barker, Ella Edgerton, Rudolph Cabrera, Don Cabrera, Amos Cabrera and Glen Cabrera.

Survivors include her sons, Samuel "Buddy" Chambers, Scotty Chambers, Timothy Chambers, and Willie "Little Willie" Chambers; grandchildren, Jordan Johnson, Jesse Chambers, Virginia Chambers, Caleb Stillwell, Isaac Chambers and Natalie Staton; great grandchildren, Ezlynn Linderman, Ezme Linderman, Elva Linderman, Lottie Chambers and Jonathan Chambers; sister and brother-in-law, Brenda and Joe Dorman; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were conducted on Tuesday, July 29, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. from the Akins-Cobb Copperhill Chapel with Rev. Glen Stiles officiating. Music was provided by Chad Elswizk. Interment followed in the Zion Hill Cemetery with the following gentlemen serving as pallbearers: Chad Boring, Isaac Chambers, Chad Elswizk, Jacob Sewell, Rodney Sawyer, and Willie Chambers. Honorary Pallbearers were Billy Joe Cole, Joe Dorman, Michael York, David Cabrera and Marcus Brown. The family received friends at the funeral home prior to the service on Tuesday, July 29, 2025 from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. For those desiring, memorial contributions may be made to help defray final expenses.
