Minnie "Clarice" Dean, age 82, of Epworth, GA passed away on June 23, 2025 in Chattanooga, TN. She was born in the Wolf Creek Community to the late Samuel D. Kaylor and May Simmons.

She was a long time member of the Damascus Baptist Church. She enjoyed music and dancing. She cherished her time with her loving husband of nearly 64 years. Clarice was known for being a meticulous homemaker. She had worked for a number of years as a custodian for both Truett McConnell and Toccoa Falls Colleges in Epworth, GA.

She moved to Beaver, WA, in 1961 with the love of her life, raising their 2 sons while her husband worked as a logger until retiring in 1992, only to return home after his retirement.

She is preceded in death by her parents, and three siblings, Ray Kaylor, Howard Kaylor and David Kaylor.

She is survived by her husband, Dennis "Tennessee" Luther Dean; sons, Samuel Hamilton Dean of Epworth, GA and Dennis Luther Dean, Jr. and wife, Sabrina of Roy, WA; grandchildren, Kayla Dougherty, Michael Dennis Dean (Kasandra), Kyle Gaddie, and Britney Marie Dean (Grant); great-grandchildren, Makenzie May Dean and Lukas Allen Dean; sister and brother-in-law, Patsy and Wayne Stillwell; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were conducted on Friday, June 27, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. from the Akins-Cobb Blue Ridge Chapel with Rev. Dr. Tom Jordan officiating. Interment followed in the Damascus Baptist Church Cemetery. The family received friends at the funeral home on Friday morning from 9:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m.
