Mildred J. Swinehart, age 87, of Ducktown, formerly of Epworth, passed away on Saturday, March 16, 2019 in the Life Care Center of Copper Basin in Ducktown. She was born on May 31, 1931 in Akron, OH to the late Sammy Sellers and Thelma Elrod Sellers. Mrs. Swinehart was a member of Williamstown United Methodist Church. She worked at Copper Basin Medical Center as a Licensed Practical Nurse. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert Earl Swinehart; son, Doug Swinehart and sister, Helen Foryetting. She is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Earl M. (Lynn) Swinehart of McCaysville, GA; daughter, Melanie Farrell of Epworth, GA; grandchildren, Karson Swinehart, Kendra Swinehart, Tracy Swinehart, Jarod Swinehart, Renee (Mike) Allen and Missy Fouts; six great-grandchildren and sisters, Nancy Ainscough of Puryear, TN and Sandy Carder of OH. Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, March 19, 2019 at 12:00 p.m. from the Akins Funeral Home with Rev. Dr. Tom Jordan officiating. Interment will follow in the Epworth First Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Karson Swinehart, Michael Allen, Steven Dillard, Jerry Chastain, Seth Russell and Wesley Chastain. Honorary Pallbearer will be Tim Allen.
