Mildred Queen, age 98, of Copperhill passed away on Thursday, April 11, 2024 at her home. Mildred was born on March 22, 1926 in Copperhill to the late James Brooks and Mary Hendrix Brooks. She was a member of Coletown Baptist Church. Mildred was preceded in death by her parents; son, Michael Queen; brothers, William Keith Brooks and Rudolph Brooks; grandchildren, James Queen and Daniel Queen; great-grandchildren, James Jensen and Nicholas Jensen; and daughter-in-law, Betty Queen.

Mildred is survived by her son, Ricky Queen of Copperhill; grandchildren, Steven Queen, John Queen, Lisa (Scott) Jensen, Anthony (Tracy) Queen, and Matthew (Melissa) Queen; and brother, Wayne Edward Brooks.

Funeral services were held on Tuesday, April 16, 2024 at 2:00 PM from the Akins-Cobb Copperhill Chapel with Rev. Steven Smith officiating. Interment followed in the Copper Ridge Memory Garden. Mrs. Queen's grandchildren served as pallbearers. The family visited with friends at the funeral home on Monday evening, April 15, 2024 from 6:00 PM till 9:00 PM.
