Mrs. Mildred Tipton Ledford, age 86, of Epworth, GA passed away Friday, May 06, 2011 in the Life Care Center in Ducktown, TN. Mrs. Ledford was born in Fannin County, GA on July 31, 1924 to the late Charles Burton Tipton and Nola Louella Leatherwood Tipton. She was a very active member of Mobile Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband, Wallace Ledford; son and daughter-in-law, Tommy and Ann Ledford of Copperhill, TN; daughter, Jackie and the late Frank Gilliam of Smyrna, GA; sister, Dot Hardeman of McCaysville, GA; grandchildren, Frank Gilliam, Jr., Nicholas Gilliam, Tommy James Ledford, Jr., and Jeffrey Burton Ledford; and great grandchildren, Wallace Jackson Ledford, Jessica Conner Ledford, Thomas Daniel Ledford, Brady Matthew Gilliam, Andrew Carson Gilliam, and Reece Olivia Gilliam. Funeral services were conducted Monday, May 9, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. from the Akins of Blue Ridge Chapel with Rev. Danny Queen and Rev. Matthew McDaniel officiating. Pallbearers were Frank Gilliam, Jr., Nicholas Gilliam, Tommy James Ledford, Jr., Jeffrey Burton Ledford, Wallace Jackson Ledford, and Joseph Ledford. Honorary pallbearers will be Raymond Ross, Buck Barclay, Bobby Dills, Paul Hunter, and Steve McDaniel. Interment followed in Kingtown Baptist Church Cemetery.
