Mr. Gary Michael Setser, age 70, of Jasper, GA, passed away on April 6, 2020 in the Northside Cherokee Hospital in Canton, GA. He was a veteran of the United States Army and was of the Christian faith. Mike was a licensed Pilot and loved to fly. He taught computer programming at Pickens Technical School for a number of years and, most recently was working as a Computer Technician for Mountain Educational Charger School in Jasper. Mike had worked as a Data Processor for Jasper Banking Company. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ivan Glen Setser and Grace Eliza Porter Setser. Survivors include his loving wife, Linda Setser of the home; daughters and sons-in-law, Kim and Brian Hopkins of Ballground, GA, Shane and Brad Johnston of Purcell, OK and Tina Setser of Jasper, GA; brothers and sisters-in-law, Dennis and Carolyn Setser of Morganton, GA and Steve and Kathy Fayetteville, TN; sister and brother-in-law, Judy and Levern Hughes of Morganton, GA; grandchildren, Austin Matthews, Hope Bannister, Jhett Hopkins and Elizabeth Johnston; great grandchildren, Drew Bannister, Grace Lynn Bannister and Nova Bannister. A private graveside service was held Wednesday, April 8, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at the Chastain Memorial Park Cemetery. Condolences may be sent to the family online at www.akinsfuneralhome.com.
